Since 2023, the VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center has hosted its Annual Research Symposium each June. The Symposium showcases the cutting-edge research conducted by Pilot Grant Awardees past and present. Join researchers from across the VCU campus for a day of exploring the latest research and innovation related to Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, as well as Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
The Annual Research Symposium features TED-style presentations from Pilot Grant recipients, with interactive question and answer sessions following each talk. While this portion of the Symposium largely highlights progress from the current Pilot Grant cohort, past awardees often present on updates to their initial research, and share successes they have experienced.
Additionally, the Symposium features a Poster Session, showcasing new and recently-featured abstracts related to movement disorders research. The Poster Session provides attendees with a chance to further explore new science in movement disorders research.
PMDC's 4th Annual Research Symposium will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 11AM-5PM in the VCU College of Health Professions Building (900 E. Leigh St.). Join us as we explore the latest research in Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, as well as Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
